- Cause: The United States dropped two atom bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Effect: - Many people died and were injured from the bombing due to direct contact of the bomb.
- The city of Hiroshima was extensively devastated.
- When the bomb landed, fire spread instantly.
- The bomb has lead to many deaths because of the exposure to atomic radiation.
- It has destroyed many houses in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The firestorm developed at Hiroshima's quickly ran over the wide-flat area in all directions.
- Japan wants peace and is hoping for the elimination of using nuclear weapons. The exposure of radiation leads many people becoming infected with leukemia.
- The estimate range that civilians faced with is stated as follows :
- Flash Burns - 20 to 30 percent
- Injuries - 50 to 60 percent
- Radiation sickness - 15 to 20 percent
- Skin charred dark brown or black and then they died after a few minutes.
- Because of the brief flash wave and the shielding effects, the radiation heat came in a line in a direct line, the area burned corresponded to the direct exposure.
